Stehekin Valley Hiking
Hiking in the Stehekin Valley is unforgettable. This valley offers fewer crowds, spectacular views and a variety of terrain for all abilities. Stehekin Valley Adventures shuttles make stop at all trailheads on the Stehekin Valley Road, from the boat dock to High Bridge. After the December 2025 flood, quite a few trails suffered damage, but work is happening and trails are getting back in shape! We want to help you stay informed to help you plan your hiking in Stehekin.
Lakeshore Trail: Prince Creek to Stehekin 5/11/26
Prince Creek to Moore Point section has one spot some hikers struggle with due to the steepness. It is being worked on currently. There are a few down trees across the trails.
Moore Point to Stehekin has more challenges: a couple of creeks requiring wading to cross and many steep detours (marked by pink ribbons) Details from recent hikers are available at the WTA website here: https://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/chelan-lakeshore
Purple Creek 5/14/26 2-3 logs to get around, but no substantial damage up to the Hazard Creek switchbacks. (2 miles before the pass)
Imus Creek Trail 5/11/26
From the Purple point campground up to the bridge across Imus Creek is good trail and the bridge is in. The trail after that over to Purple Creek was scoured from the mudslide. Crossing at Purple Creek is wading.
Rainbow Loop Trail 5/11/26
The trail in pretty good shape, with a few washouts to navigate. There is no foot log or bridge over Rainbow Creek. The Rainbow Trail above the loop has some major washouts.
Boulder from Rainbow Loop jct 5/14/26
Substantial damage on 2 washed out sections before Hooter Camp.
Stehekin River Trail 5/11/26
One bridge is missing about 1 mile down the trail, but it is crossable. The trail has been logged out and has a few wet spots.
Company Creek 5/14/26 Minor damage to the boundary
Howard Lake (from High Bridge) 5/11/26
Easily hiked by a family with young kids recently. PCTA crew did some clearing recently.
Agnes Creek (PCT) South from High Bridge 5/11/26
Recently brushed and cleared 6 miles south of the trailhead
Agnes Gorge 5/11/26
Beautiful with lots of blooming flowers. Creek crossings are not a problem. One tree to detour around.
Old Wagon Road/Bridge Creek 5/12/26
The bridge creek trail is passable, no washouts but a few downed trees and gouged sections of trail. One small water crossing but nothing extreme for a hiker of average ability. Bridge creek camp is intact and in good condition, small washout on the other end of the bridge but still passable.
